Las Vegas is built for visitors, and most of the action sits along one stretch — the Strip. Two days lets you experience the spectacle and still escape to the desert.
Day 1 — The Strip
Walk the Las Vegas Strip, which comes alive after dark: the Bellagio fountains, the themed mega-resorts (Venetian, Caesars, the Bellagio conservatory), and the view from the High Roller observation wheel. Evening is for a show — Cirque du Soleil, a residency concert, or a magic act.
Day 2 — Old Vegas & the desert
See Fremont Street downtown for old-school Vegas and its overhead light show. With a half-day to spare, take a trip to Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, or a tour to the Grand Canyon (a longer day out).
Getting around
- The Strip is walkable but far longer than it looks — pace yourself and use the monorail or ride-share.
- Most resorts, dining and shows run late into the night.
Worth knowing
You must be 21+ to gamble or drink. Summer heat is extreme — carry water and plan outdoor time for morning or evening. Set a budget before you go and stick to it.
